Real Chamonix Bride Lindsay’s Wedding at The Links
Every once in a while a bride walks in with an idea of something they want and leaves with the exact opposite of what she was looking for. Actually, that happens pretty frequently. That’s because a wedding gown isn’t your average dress. It’s special! That’s why we’re never surprised that sometimes you may be drawn to a particular style or silhouette, but it’s not until the moment you put on the right gown that you truly feel it’s THE one! Our job is to help you find that dress. The right wedding dress simply put just has your name on it and can only be made better.
Take this dress for our recently married real bride Lindsay. Our seamstress added some special touches to the perfect dress to make it even more perfect for her! Not exactly was she was expecting when she walked in, but it was better than dreamed when she finally got to take it home! Take a peek at her gorgeous gown and her beautiful wedding at the Links at Unionvale captured by Sage Studios Photography.
Picking out your wedding dress can feel like such a daunting task. My mom and I decided to go looking at different dresses and styles at Chamonix in January 2015 after getting a postcard inviting us to a trunk show. I had sort of had an idea of what I wanted, maybe a little pouf? But, I certainly was in no rush as our wedding was not until July 2016. My mom and I walked into the store and were immediately greeted. We went through all the different gowns and picked out a few that I thought I would like, while keeping an open mind. I tried on about four different dresses and narrowed it down to two.
The style of dress I ended up purchasing was the complete opposite of what I thought I would be walking down the aisle in! I just knew that my now husband would be in shock. I loved that it had just enough beading and lace, and was simple, but classic at the same time. It screamed Lindsay, and I could not wait to wear it on our big day.
As time got closer, I made an appointment to get the dress fitted and I met the ever-amazing Kathy. Just when I didn’t think I could fall in love with the dress anymore, Kathy fitted the dress to my body perfectly. I could hardly believe that it was me standing in that dress. What was so fantastic was that Kathy actually put buttons on my lacey shoulder straps. This way, I could maintain a very elegant, and romantic look with my dress during the ceremony, and then unbutton them, to switch them over my shoulder so I could dance the night away, or even remove them completely! Looking back at my wedding day, I am so thankful for that because not only did it allow for a quick style change, but it also allowed me to be even more comfortable!
All of our vendors helped make our day a memorable one. In fact, they played a huge role in making it the best day ever! Our wedding day was a perfect day and something I will never forget. My day started out with a quick run in the morning (I am sure I am not the only bride that could not sleep the night before her wedding), that quickly progressed into getting our hair and makeup done to our beautiful flowers from Lavender and Leaf arriving. Our photographer Steven, from Sage Studios Photography, was an incredible asset to not only documenting all those amazing and candid moments during this time and the whole day, but also bringing some calmness to the pre-ceremony and beyond timeline!
Our ceremony took place at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, in Poughkeepise, New York. The reception was held at the Links at UnionVale, in Langrangeville, New York, and what a party it was thanks to the help and organization of Doreen and the awesome food made in the kitchen! We had such a blast with DJ Joey, from Jade Entertainment, working the dance floor and keeping the music going. Our guests were up and dancing right after speeches, well before even the appetizers were served! I love dancing, and I was very happy that Kathy had altered my dress straps so I could give hundreds of hugs and dance on the dance floor! I was 100% comfortable in my dress the entire day, wherever it took me!
I remember being so excited for my now husband to see me in my wedding dress. The staff at Chamonix was and is always so friendly and helpful. It is so obvious that they love their job and being a part of the wedding magic! Thank you for being there for me Chamonix!
It’s more like “Thank You, Lindsay!” We are super honored that you chose to share your day with us and that we could be a part of your happy wedding memories! We wish you and your husband a lifetime of smiles and love!
